Beginner - basic knowledge of German The students learn to understand sentences and expressions of immediate relevance (e.g. personal and family information, shopping, employment etc.) They learn to communicate in simple and routine tasks. The students learn to describe aspects of their background, their immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need. | Grundstufe Deutsch (A2) |
| B1 |
Lower Intermediate - good basic knowledge of German The students learn to understand the main points of standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, travel etc. They learn to produce a text on a topic which is familiar or of personal interest. The students learn to talk about personal experiences, events, dreams and ambitions and give reasons and explanations for their opinions. | Zertifikat Deutsch (B1) |

Intermediate - students with a good command of the essential language structures The students learn to understand the main ideas of a complex text either on concrete or abstract topics. They learn to interact with a fluency and spontaneity that makes interaction with native speakers possible without an extra effort of both partners. The students learn to produce a clear text on a wide range of subjects and clearly explain viewpoints, giving advantages and disadvantages of various options. | Mittelstufe Deutsch (B2) |

Intermediate plus For advanced students with a good knowledge of German. The students learn to express themselves adequately in speaking and writing, as well as to use the language for social, academic and professional purposes, expressing their opinion in a clear, well-structured way. | Oberstufe Deutsch (C1) |

Advanced students with a very good command of German This course emphasises literary texts, German for special purposes and intensive fluency practice.
