Registration

To register, please fill in the registration form and send it to Cultura Wien by mail, fax or e-mail.

In order to finalize your registration, we kindly ask you to send us a down-payment of € 200.- (course only) or € 400.- (course & accommodation).

As soon as we have received the down-payment, we will send you a booking confirmation and information about your course and accommodation.

Cancellation

In the event of cancellation the following fees are payable:
More than 21 days before the course starts: 30% of the total fee
More than 7 days before the course starts: 50% of the total fee
Less than 7 days before the course starts: 80% of the total fee

Cultura Wien will not refund any fees once the course has started.

If accommodation is booked, Cultura Wien reserves the right to charge the fees for accommodation and/or meals.

Visa

Should you need a visa for your journey to Austria, we kindly ask you to pay the full amount for course & accommodation in advance.

Only then are we allowed to send you a letter of acceptance, which you will need if you apply for a visa at the Austrian Embassy/Consulate.

Please book well in advance and inquire about the visa procedure as soon as possible, because it may take a long time.

Please note that the letter of acceptance is sent by normal mail to your address (which might take up to 2-4 weeks). If you want the letter to be sent by express mail the fees will be counted up to your bill.

Cultura Wien has no influence on the decision of the Austrian Embassy/Consulate.

If the Austrian authorities decline your visa application, the course fees can only be refunded if you inform us (per e-mail) before the course starts. In this case you have to send us a copy of the refusal letter (issued by the Austrian Embassy) and the original letter of acceptance (issued by Cultura Wien) by mail. An administration charge of € 100.- plus bank charges will be deducted.
If accommodation is booked, only the fees for the course (minus the administration charge) are refunded, the fees for accommodation cannot be refunded.

Liability

You are liable for all damage you may cause in the school, in the residence or in the house or the property of the landlord/landlady and are obliged to pay compensation in accordance with the law. Cultura Wien does not accept any liability for any possible damage or accident to the participants’ person or property.

Participation in all Cultura Wien activities is at your own risk.

Course participants are not insured against either accident or illness from our side. We strongly recommend that you make your own insurance arrangements, in particular health and personal liability insurance.

The school, the landlady/landlord or the student residence will immediately have the students (whatever their age) be taken to a hospital in case of drug or alcohol abuse.
The costs for the transport and the hospitalisation are not covered by any insurance and have to be paid by the students themselves.

Exclusion by Cultura Wien

Should a course participant behave in a fashion grossly contrary to this contract or disrupt classes, he/she can be excluded without compensation from the course program.

If a participant engages in any criminal activity (theft, drug and substance abuse, damage to persons or property etc.) or behaves contrary to general customs and house regulations, he/she will be expelled from the institute.

Course and accommodation charges will not be refunded.

Shortening of German courses

Should the minimum class size of 5 participants not be achieved, Cultura Wien reserves the right to cancel or shorten the course.

Minors

Cultura Wien does not assume any responsibility and does not provide 24 hours supervision of minors. Parents or guardians are liable for their child/children.

Course participants must be at least 15 years old.

Holidays

Unless otherwise stated, no courses take place on national holidays. The course days lost in this way will not be made up at another time and will not be refunded.

Attendance

In the case of irregular attendance of the course no refund of course fees or extension of the German course is possible.

The participants are awarded a Cultura Wien certificate, provided that they attend the course regularly (80% of the course time) and take a midterm-test and an end-test.

Prerequisites for the course participation

The participant must have mastered the Latin writing.

Course material

The course book(s) and Cultura Wien certificate are included in the course fees.

Photos and films

The participant agrees that any photographs and films taken during the course or during the activities may be used in advertising material for Cultura Wien and may be published on the Internet. If the participant does not agree he/she must let us know in writing before the course starts.

Miscellaneous

Cultura Wien reserves the right to alter the rules, the program, the fees and the Terms and Conditions without prior notice. Should one point of these Conditions of Trade be or become legally unenforceable, the other conditions shall retain their full force and content. Our course fees are VAT-exempted. Typographical and translation errors reserved. The applicable place of jurisdiction is Vienna.

The Austrian and Viennese laws are in effect.
